Liz

If you’re looking for more than just a therapist —for someone who truly gets it, who is warm, direct, and experienced, and will meet you where you are to help you find a real path forward, you’ve come to the right place.

I’m Liz, a Registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in private practice. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

I support adults navigating depression, anxiety, addiction, brain injury, anger management and I’m especially passionate about helping couples build stronger, more connected relationships. My approach is practical and client-centred, always grounded in empowerment and focused on improving your quality of life.

I work from a trauma-focused lens and draw on a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Counselling, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I integrate clinical expertise with practical, real-world strategies because insight alone isn’t enough. I help you develop tools you can actually use.

Specializing in Couples Therapy

Relationships are at the heart of so much of our wellbeing — and they take real work. Whether you and your partner are facing a communication breakdown, recovering from a breach of trust, navigating a major life transition, or simply wanting to feel closer and more connected, I will help you find a path forward that feels right for both of you.

I am trained in the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Relational Life Therapy; evidence-based approaches that create lasting change. I also have a strong background in conflict resolution, which means I’m comfortable and skilled at navigating even the most difficult, high-conflict conversations with compassion and clarity.

My Approach

I believe that true wellness is woven together from more than one thread; meaningful social connection, physical health, and the importance of connecting with nature and our surroundings. I’m down to earth and approachable, and I bring that same warmth and honesty into every session.

You don’t have to figure this out alone. I’d love to connect and explore how we can work together.

What does “Fostering Meaningful Connections” mean to you?

Fostering meaningful connections is the foundation of my work with individuals, couples and families. The importance of fostering supportive relationships and giving back to people in their lives. I strive to help people who are feeling stuck, struggling or can’t seem to quiet their negative self-talk. I work with people and help them develop different skills needed to move forward with confidence. I believe that my work with people allows them to foster resilience and hope.
